Introducing Prom Queen Maya

What a time it has been working with all of these extraordinary seniors. I’m genuinely excited to discover who I’ll meet next year when we do host this contest again. Of course, we’re here now, and we’re sharing the last story of the G Photography Prom King and Queen contest. Naturally, the tale of Maya F. from Houston, TX, aligns perfectly with the month of October.

Maya’s session took place in Mercer Botanic Garden, which is a magical place. Her gold gown was perfectly placed in the garden’s green grounds. The earlier storm created an exceptional filtered light. Yes, we were poised to capture the best of Maya. We partnered with Brandi Spencer, make-up artist and owner of The Bee Effect for the natural face. We wanted a look that would enhance Maya’s natural beauty and freckles. So, let’s talk about Ms. Maya.

Maya, you’ve just graduated, but we have a funny feeling you were an active senior. Tell us a little bit about your high school activities and perhaps your plans for the future.

“I was a member of the National Honor Society, Black Student Union, HOSA, and Student Council. This summer, I plan on traveling, attending college, and working.”

HOSA? What’s that?

“HOSA is now Future Health Professionals, or formerly known as Health Occupations Students of America. It’s an international career and technical student organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Technology Education Division of ACTE.”

Well, that’s impressive. What college are you attending, and we must assume you’re studying something health-related?

“I plan on attending Texas Southern University (TSU) to study pharmacy. Hopefully, I’ll start my own business within the pharmaceutical industry.”

That’s awesome and so fitting. October is National Women’s Small Business Month, so we’re excited to be chatting with a future womenpreneur. Here’s our last question: can you share something fun about you with our readers?

“I love fashion, playing volleyball, shopping, reading, writing, and spending quality time with my family and close friends.”

Hey, those are some of our favorite things, too, minus the volleyball part. Thank you, Maya, for taking this time to speak and us and our readers. We wish you the best in the future. We’ve shared just a small collection of Maya’s breathtaking images. If you’re ready to book your session, send us a note: book a session.
