On this International Women's Day I'm ecstatic to have this "quick chat" with Nancy Worth of Chloe+Isabel by Nancy. Just who is this woman who's ruling the world her way? Let's find out!
Let’s cover the basics first…what’s your name and who are you? What or who is your spirit animal?
I’m Nancy Worth. Who am I? Mother to 5, Chloe+Isabel Merchandiser, chocolate addict and fashion lover. My spirit animal definitely has a fun print - maybe a leopard or zebra...but which of those takes nice long naps? I definitely needs naps.
Why did you choose to start your own business?
I chose to start my business as therapy. With 5 kids, a lot of my life is (gladly) given away to my little people. But I needed something that was just mine and something to help me come out of the happy little bubble (my home) that I’d been building for the past 15 years. I did my research about best Direct Sales companies and found Chloe+Isabel. High-quality jewelry with fun colors? Yes, please! Low start up cost? Yep. Online training (because I had no idea what I was doing!)? Yes! Chloe+Isabel fit all the criteria I had set!
What do you enjoy most about operating a woman led business?
I love that my job is all about helping women feel beautiful, empowered, sparkly and good. I see them look in the mirror and like what they see, and it makes me SO happy!
Plus the Sisterhood! Jewelry is sometimes a really personal thing - it’s one way a woman can express herself. So sometimes as we try on jewels and talk about style, we really bond. Plus, I have a great support system from my fellow Chloe+Isabel “Merchies” who’ve become like sisters.
What advice do you have for other women (young and old) who are looking to start their own business?
Find something you love enough to enjoy it every day, then just START! You don’t need to have a full 5-year plan and know exactly how your business will look in 10 years. Just start! Then set killer goals that push you out of your comfort zone.
