First Photos: Spring
Updated: Aug 25, 2019

March 24, 2012. Funny how dates stick in your head when something magical happens. This happens to be the day I snapped this photo. The project was to capture a picture of spring. I wondered around my aunt's home in Bellville, Texas looking for an inspiration. Then I saw this plant.
Now it's easy to see only red leaves when looking straight on, but I decided to change my perspective. There's a photographer I admire who often says "Get high. Get low." I am always amazed how the paradigm shifts when I shift how I view the world.
This is the photo I decided to submit for the challenge (received some pretty nice reviews as well). The colors simple. The sky beyond reach. The feeling is fresh. Hello Spring.
